Pastor Rich while some leave Christianity for self works that they cant live up to not all do. I had no problem with works and had a good balance between grace and works understanding of theology. Works werent the problem. I think with a lot of people works arent the problem. It was all the garbage in Christianity that I saw that was the problem that I knew couldnt be truth. Christians like to lord over people and make them feel like they are never good enough for them. They focus on elitism, polarized politics, judgement over divorce, sexual orientation, they are greedy and only value money and power, they think everything is the devil and judge everyone. Churches arent that welcoming and no one wants to spend any time getting to know you outside the Sunday service, they are too competitive and jealous, the tithe thing is not even scriptural and they worship the Bible over the spirit of God. THey like to slander people and always believe they are right. Most of the time they dont apologize if they are wrong and they arent really their for you or care if things arent going well for you. They arent very giving and hate welfare and the disabled. They arent led of the spirit they are often led by their pastor or their flesh. They believe in conspiracy theories and boogey men. I could go on and on here. Churches are mostly country clubs and have nothing to do with the spirit of God. The ones that do try and focus on the spirit become cults and control and have beliefs that inflict harm on people. Those are some of the factors for me leaving Christianity although I did not leave Christ. And you being the pastor and trying to tell me that I am going to have all the plagues of the Bible and curses as well as not be alowed to eat from tree of life only upholds my reasons for leaving when in fact you took that out of context because it only had to do with adding the book of Revelation and not the rest of the Bible. But I guess you wanted to invoke a curse on me so you used it out of meanness and aggression. In any case if you dont want people to leave the faith change some of the things I mentioned and encourage others to do the same. Start encouraging people in the church to befriend new comers and spend time with them outside of the Sunday service. That would be a good start. There are so many things I left out that Christians do that turn people off and make people think that Christianity is not truth. Do a google search for them and take them seriously because they list reasons why people reject Christians and stop doing them. They are not the only reasons I left the faith but they certainly contributed. Leave a Reply. |
